Before you start

  • A Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later) or an Intel processor.
  • Metal graphics, which every supported Mac has.

Install the app

  1. Download the DMG. Download photocraft-0.7.0-macos-universal.dmg from the official GitHub release.
  2. Open the disk image. Double-click the .dmg to mount it.
  3. Drag to Applications. Drag PhotoCraft into the Applications folder, then eject the disk image.
  4. Launch PhotoCraft. Open PhotoCraft from Applications or Launchpad. Because the app is notarized, macOS opens it without a Gatekeeper warning.

More options

Install the command-line tool

The .app contains only the desktop editor. For scripting, batch edits or MCP, download photocraft-cli-<version>-macos-universal.zip, unzip it and move photocraft-cli onto your PATH. The binary is notarized; macOS checks that online on first run. You can confirm it yourself:

Shell
ditto -x -k photocraft-cli-<version>-macos-universal.zip .
spctl --assess --type install -vv photocraft-cli-<version>-macos-universal/photocraft-cli
# ... accepted, source=Notarized Developer ID

"PhotoCraft can't be opened"

This should not happen with the official DMG. If it does, you probably have a file from a mirror site. Delete it and download again from GitHub.

Uninstall

Quit PhotoCraft and drag it from Applications to the Trash.
